How Much Does a Website Cost in Mauritius? (2026 Guide)
Real numbers from the Mauritian market: what template shops, freelancers and agencies charge, and what you actually get at each price point.
Ask five agencies in Mauritius what a website costs and you'll get five versions of the same answer: "it depends, request a quote." It does depend. But "it depends" shouldn't mean "we won't tell you." Here's the honest breakdown of what websites cost in Mauritius in 2026, and what you actually get at each level.
The three price tiers in the Mauritian market
Tier 1: Template sites, MUR 15,000 to 30,000
A freelancer or small shop installs a WordPress theme, swaps in your logo and photos, and hands it over. It looks fine on day one. The problems arrive later: slow load times on mobile (where most Mauritian traffic is), plugin security holes, and rankings that never move because the site is technically identical to thousands of others.
Template sites are cheap to buy and expensive to own. If your business genuinely just needs an online business card, this tier can work. Go in with clear eyes.
Tier 2: Professional custom builds, MUR 45,000 to 120,000
This is where most serious Mauritian SMEs should be. A custom-designed site on a modern framework, built mobile-first, bilingual EN/FR, with a real SEO foundation: metadata, schema markup, sitemaps and Google Business integration. At this level you should expect a sub-2-second load time and a site that measurably produces enquiries.
Our own Launch package starts at MUR 45,000 (up to 6 pages, first draft in days); the Growth tier at MUR 85,000 adds a headless CMS, blog and booking automation.
Tier 3: Corporate and portal builds, MUR 180,000+
Client portals, dashboards, multi-language sites, CRM integration, member areas. Enterprise agencies in Mauritius quote well above this; the number depends entirely on scope, which is why anything at this tier should come with a written, fixed-scope proposal.
The questions that actually determine your price
- How many pages, really? A 6-page brochure site and a 15-page bilingual site with a blog are different projects.
- Who updates content? If your team needs to edit text and photos, you need a CMS. Budget for it.
- Do you need bookings, payments, or forms that go somewhere? Integrations are where budgets quietly grow. Get them scoped up front.
- EN only, or EN/FR? Bilingual done properly (with hreflang, not just a translate widget) affects structure and cost.
Red flags when comparing quotes
- No published pricing anywhere, and a quote that arrives only after a sales meeting.
- No mention of load time or mobile performance in the proposal.
- "SEO included" with no specifics. Ask exactly what's included.
- A price that changes after the project starts. A fixed-scope quote should be fixed.
Our rule: a fixed quote in writing within 48 hours of your strategy call. The price we quote is the price you pay.
